HOOKERS AND CLAMPERS WHICH ONE HAVE YOU GOT?

'Hookers' (i.e. Monopisthocotylea) generally live on the surface of their hosts and feed on mucus and epidermal cells. Gyrodactylus, on the left, is a good example.

'Clampers' (i.e. Polyopisthocotylea), like the worm on the right, live on the gills and feed on blood. A few live in frogs' bladders ! Discocotyle is a good example.
